FAQs
-
You'll need an unmodified copy of Pokémon Crystal - which I cannot provide - and then use an IPS Patcher. If you are upgrading, you will need to patch a fresh unmodified copy of Pokémon Crystal. Saves (outside of Elm's Lab) will still be compatible.
This website is commonly used for applying patches. Once you have patched your copy of Pokémon Crystal, you will be able to play the Challenge Run version.

The features in the Challenge Run version of Pokémon Crystal are designed around the way I play my challenges, and making the challenge a smoother experience.
Everything about the game is entirely vanilla, barring the optional three forced HM Friend encounters in their respective routes.
The overworld remains entirely the same, including all spinners and wild encounters.
-
In the 2nd floor of every Pokémon Center, there are two Move Tutors. One for Generation 1 TMs, and one for Egg Moves.
Both of these tutors live in every Pokémon Center, but you can only use one specific tutor in each run, and you can use them up to four times.
If you use the Gen 1 TM Tutor, for example, you cannot use the Egg Move Tutor.
The Egg Moves available are the same Egg Moves that you would get via Breeding.
The TM Tutor teaches all unavailable teachable moves that a Pokémon could learn in Generation I.
